Super 8 China Appoints New SVP

Craig Evans has been appointed to the position of Senior Vice President (SVP) of Operations of Super 8 Hotels (China) Co., Ltd. This is a newly created position in Super 8 in recognition of the company's goals to focus on providing superior quality customer satisfaction, to both its franchisees as well as to it customers.

Craig joined Super 8 China on November 21, 2005. He brings with him over 30 years experience in the hospitality industry, and 16 of those years in the Asia Pacific region. Having spent his entire career in the hotel industry, Craig's experience includes all facets of hotel management, especially focusing on implementing standards, establishing operating procedures and increasing revenue through various measures and programs.

Prior to joining Super 8 Craig spent 6 years in the Intercontinental Hotels, first as Director of Marketing & Sales/Resident Manager of the Intercontinental Hotel in Seoul, Korea then as Resident Manager/General Manager of the Intercontinental, Jarkarta, Indonesia and lastly as General Manager of the Intercontinental in Chengdu, China. He also served as GM at two joint venture hotels in Yunnan where he implemented International Service Standards.

Craig holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University, where he majored in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He is a Registered Foreign Hotel Expert by the Chinese Government, and holds the hotel and hospitality certifications of CHA, CHE and CHSE.
