Auchan is to expand its procurement in China. The retailer held an event with procurement suppliers in the Tianjin Development Zone this week in a bid to source a greater number of products from north China, a first for Auchan.

The products to be sourced include food, clothing, homewares, tools and leisure goods.

To date Auchan’s procurement in China has been focused mainly on the southern regions of the country. Last year procurement from China reached EUR250 million and is predicted to reach EUR500 million this year.
