During last week's Golden Week holiday, three major home appliance retailers in Beijing–Suning, Gome and Dazhong–sold a combined 150,000 televisions.

In Dazhong, the selling price of flat-screen TVs was up 95% over color televisions, and the sale volume of flat-screens beat color TVs by 50%.

Zhao Baomin, general manager of Gome (Beijing), says that the sales volume of flat-screen TVs has exceeded their goals and reached more than 60,000.

At Suning, the sale of LCD color TVs was 70% more than flat-screen TVs.

Local media quotes electronics experts who say that with people coming back to Beijing from their trips, there will be another peak selling period for color televisions in a few weeks.
