InterContinental Sees Fast Expansion In China

InterContinental Hotels Group has increased its expansion in China with the opening of four new hotels in the country within one month.

In the one month from June to July, InterContinental opened four hotels in China, providing a total of more than 1100 rooms. These four hotels are: Crowne Plaza Zhongjiang Square Changshu, Crowne Plaza Fudan Shanghai, Holiday Inn Jasmine Suzhou and Holiday Inn Sea View Qinhuangdao.

With the opening of these hotels, the total number of hotels managed by InterContinental reached 57, which has helped further strengthen the company's leadership in the hospitality industry in China.

Ye Haihua, a representative from InterContinental, says that China has been the keystone of InterContinental's global development strategy. InterContinental plans to have 125 hotels in Asia before 2008.
