Isetan To Enter Beijing's Xidan Area

Japanese department store Isetan is planning to set its first Beijing store in the Xidan shopping area.

Isetan will be located in Maxong International Plaza, whose total construction area is more than 110,000 square meters. Wang Zhanbing, general manager of Maxong Group says that the project was started in March, and will be completed at the end of 2007 or the beginning of 2008.

Founded in 1886, Isetan is one of the biggest retailing groups in Japan. It now has shopping malls in Tianjin, Shanghai and Jinan.
