A Wumart Plaza representative says that Xinhua Department Store, which is located on Beijing's Xinjiekou Street, is going to be formally re-opened in late September this year.
After Wumart purchased the Yinchuan Xinhua Department Store in the first half of this year, Wumart Plaza, the hypermarket subsidiary of Wumart, used the Xinhua brand to develop its department store business.
This is the first time for Wumart to formally enter the department store industry.
Wumart will open four to six Xinhua stores in Beijing and its surrounding areas in the next two to three years.
