Budget Hotel Franchise Chain Opens Second Beijing Outlet

Shanghai Merrylin Management Company has announced the entry of its economy hotel brand Motel 168 into the bustling business area of Wangfujing in Beijing.

A representative from Merrylin Beijing branch says that Motel 168 in Wangfujing will be open in the middle of February 2007. Located opposite from Sun Dong'an Plaza in Wangfujing, this new hotel will have 256 guest rooms and is the company's second foray into China's capital city, after its previous opening in the Zhongguancun area.

The addition of Motel 168 into the area is creating a new circle of budget hotels, with other brands like Super 8 and Home Inn already positioned there.

Founded in 1996, Shanghai Merrylin Management Company now manages 22 budget hotels under the Motel 168 and Motel 268 brands and three star-graded hotels, most of which are in the Shanghai area.
