Lianhua Quickmarts Will Use Smart Cards

August 3, 2007 | By ChinaRetailNews.com Editor | Print Print | Email Email

Starting next month, consumers can start using smart cards in 110 Lianhua Quickmarts when they purchase goods.

Currently, about 80 Lianhua outlets have passed preliminary tests in Beijing and the cards used will be issued by the Beijing Municipal Administration and Communication Card Company.

Initially, consumers will only be able to purchase up to RMB100 per day with the smart cards. However there are plans to cancel this limitation in the future once operations are running smoothly.
