Hotels In Hebei Plan Discounts During 2008 Olympic Games

According to the Hebei Tourism Department, more than 200 hotels near Beijing have laid out discount plans for the upcoming Olympic Games in order to attract guests, and those plans have been segmented geographically.

The first hotel group which is within 30 minutes drive of Beijing will have 30-50% off compared with the same price level hotel in Beijing during 2008 Olympic Games. A total of 50 hotels belong to this group, which can provide 5,100 rooms and 10,000 beds. Among them, there are four five-star hotels, eight four-star hotels and 38 hotels lower than the three-star level.

The second hotel group which is one hour drive from Beijing will have 50-70% off compared with the same price level hotel in Beijing during 2008 Olympic Games. This group comprises 53 hotels including five four-star hotels and 48 hotels lower than the three-star level. Together, these hotels can provide 3,700 rooms and 7,100 beds.

The third hotel group which is a 90-minute drive from Beijing will have 60-80% off compared with the same price level hotel in Beijing during 2008 Olympic Games. There are reportedly a total of 98 hotels including two five-star hotels, ten four-star hotels and 86 hotels lower than the three-star level. Together, they can provide 9,364 rooms and 18,700 beds.

In addition, the Hebei Tourism Department has not yet proposed a reference price for Qinghuangdao, as it is a branch venue of the football games during the Olympics.
