McDonald's Breakfast Price Hikes

October 16, 2007 | By ChinaRetailNews.com Editor | Print Print | Email Email

Following the raise of the price of its milkshake on August 1, fast food giant McDonald's now is increasing the price of its breakfast food by average of RMB0.5 to RMB1.5 in China.

The company says that the price markup is a result of the price rise of food and raw materials, and it has nothing to do with the company's increase of employee salaries which was implemented on September , 2007.

The price increase reportedly began on September 28 when the price of most of the hamburgers and drinks was raised by RMB0.5.

According to Sina.com, McDonald's competitor KFC says they have no plan of raising their own prices in the near future.
