Shanghai Meilongzhen Isetan Revamps Itself For 2010

According to reports in local media, Shanghai Meilongzhen Isetan department store will be re-launched as a lifestyle department store that is to open in 2010.

The department store on Nanjing Lu will be renovated floor by floor and the renovation will take place without interrupting normal business.

Akifumi Morita, the managing director of Shanghai Meilongzhen Isetan, said that Meilongzhen Isetan will undergo a thorough renovation dispensing with the traditional department store layout. On the completion of the renovation, all the old decor will have been removed and the department store will be created as Isetan's first lifestyle department store worldwide.

The new lifestyle department store is expected to be opened before the 2010 Spring Festival. At the same time, the company is selecting a location for its second Isetan department store in Shanghai.
