Watsons To Open New Concept Store In Tianjin

Health and beauty products retailer Watsons has opened a new type of concept store in Tianjin.

Located in Tianjin International Shopping Mall, Watsons' new concept store is differs from its traditional personal care stores with the addition of a new perfume center and an experience area, which offers international perfume brands such as Burberry, Paul Smith, and Nina Ricci.

At the same time, its 20 plus cosmetics counters are all devolved from the store with each counter having dedicated sales staff, making the new concept store more like a department store than a supermarket. This new model is aimed at providing a better service and experience to customers.

As a result of the global financial crisis many retailers have lowered their goals for 2009; however, Watsons has said that its expansion will not be affected by the current economic situation. The company attaches great importance to the Tianjin market and it plans to open 12 new stores in the city this year, in addition to its six existing stores.
