Beijing: Daily Retail Sales Of CNY88.88 Million Over Qing Ming

According to statistics published by Beijing Committee of Commerce (the former Beijing Bureau of Commerce) during the five days around the Qing Ming Festival, 35 Beijing retailers realized total sales of CNY444 million, a year-on-year increase of 1.33%, and daily average sales of CNY88.88 million.

It is understood that this survey covered 1,103 retail sites of 35 retailers, including ten department stores, 11 chain supermarkets, ten large scale catering enterprises, two flower markets, two tea specialty stores, and two cake shops. The monitoring period was from April 2 to April 6, 2009.

Of the 35 retailers, the ten department stores realized sales of CNY186 million, a year-on-year increase of 3.94%; the two tea specialty stores realized sales of CNY7.307 million, a year-on-year increase of 17.6%; and the two cake shops realized sales of CNY16.541 million, a year-on-year increase of 13.15%.
