CR Vanguard Plans 10+ Convenience Stores In Xi'an

Chinese retail company China Resources Vanguard has announced its new expansion plan and said it will open 10 to 15 convenience stores in Xi'an before the end of this year.

Wang Weiyong, the senior vice president of CR Vanguard, revealed to the local media that the company plans to open four new large-scale supermarkets before the end of 2009, one of which, the Xiyinglu store, is expected to open in July. In the next year to two CR Vanguard will open 100 standard supermarkets with a business area of about 1,000 square meters each as well as convenience stores with a business area of about 300 square meters each.

A representative from CR Vanguard's northwestern office said that the company will adopt an operating model of "large-scale supermarkets plus standard supermarkets" and implement a multi-business model and diversified operation in Xi'an. Before the end of this year, CR Vanguard will open 10 to 15 convenience stores in Xi'an.
