Quanjude Profit Up In H1 2009

Chinese roast duck restaurant company Quanjude has published its financial report for the first half of 2009 and states that its total revenues increased by 14.58% year-on-year while its total profit increased by 28.82% year-on-year.

Statistics provided by the company show that during the first six months of 2009, Quanjude made operating revenues of CNY538 million and it made a profit of CNY59.775 million. The revenue of its major business was mainly from the Beijing market, accounting for 93.81% of the total; while the revenue from other marketplaces, including Shanghai, Chongqing, Harbin, and Qingdao, only accounted for 6.19%.

The report also says due to the postponement of the renovation of Qianmen street, the performance of its Qianmen restaurant failed to meet expectations. In addition, its Tongzhou restaurant and Fengzeyuan restaurant in Beijing did not meet the revenue expectations either, and its restaurants in Qingdao and Zhengzhou made losses.
