Beijing-based supermarket chain Wumart Stores has published its financial report for the first half of 2009, stating that its sales through individual stores increased by 3.52% during the period.
According to the report, Wumart's total revenue in the first six months of 2009 reached CNY5.705 billion, an increase of 22.9% compared with the same period in 2008; its gross profit was CNY1.089 billion, a year-on-year increase of 34.7%; and net profit was CNY233.157 million, a year-on-year increase of 21.6%.
At the same time, the number of its retail outlets increased to 424 by June 30, 2009, including 107 hypermarkets and 317 convenience stores, and the sales of its individual stores increased by 3.52% over the previous year.
