Tesco Opens Its First Store In Anhui

The British retailer Tesco has opened its first hypermarket in China's Anhui province: on Suixi Road in Luyang district, Hefei.

Covering a construction area of over 20,000 square meters, Tesco's Suixi road store has been designated as the retailer's flagship store in Anhui.

Apart from this newly opened outlet in Hefei, Tesco is planning two additional hypermarkets in the city. It is also considering opening of new sites in other cities within the province, including Wuhu and Bengbu.

To operates these new outlets in Anhui, Tesco has established a subsidiary in the province. With total a investment of USD25 million, the new subsidiary has registered capital of USD10 million.
