China's Wuliangye Net Profit Up 79.45% In 2009

A leading Chinese alcohol company Wuliangye has published its annual performance report for 2009, stating that net profit attributable to the shareholders of its listed unit increased by 79.45% year-on-year, to CNY3.249 billion.

The report shows that the company achieved operating revenue of CNY11.065 billion in 2009, a year-on-year increase of 39.48%; its operating profit was CNY4.567 billion, a year-on-year increase of 87.87%; and its total profit was CNY4.589 billion, a year-on-year increase of 91.31%.

Wuliangye states that, during the reporting period, its product structure was optimized, and the volume and prices of its alcohol products were increased. In July 2009, Wuliangye set up a retail branch, which increased the company's sales and profits.
