More Travelers Using Shanghai Airports

Shanghai Airport Authority recently announced that the passenger traffic in July 2010 rose 38.06% year on year to 7.05 million, and cargo traffic increased 28.6% to 330,500 metric tons: further underlining signs of recovery in the travel industry.

The total number of aircraft takeoffs and landings at the city's two main airports, Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport, grew 18.33% year on year to 50,168 in July.

The number of international and regional tourists jumped 38.03% from a year ago to 1.86 million in July, exceeding the growth of 31.04% in domestic tourist.

The growth may also be attributed to the ongong Shanghai World Expo, which runs until the end of 2010.
