Taiwan's Rt-Mart Launches Internet Shopping For Mainland Consumers

Taiwan-based supermarket retailer Rt-Mart has joined Shoptaiwan.cn, an Internet shopping website promoted by Taiwan's Institute for Information Industry, to provide online shopping services to mainland consumers.

Rt-Mart said that Shoptaiwan.cn provides a platform for Taiwanese companies who want to enter the mainland Internet shopping market. This website integrates Taiwanese vendors who also operate on Taobao.com and JD.com, and it also has international companies which operate in the Taiwanese market.

Users who buy products from this website will be able to complete payments via Alipay.com and the online payment service of China UnionPay; the products can then be delivered to various regions of mainland China.

Starting from February 2014, mainland users were able to start buying Rt-Mart products on this website. The most popular products sold so far on this website are reportedly tea, face masks, milk powder, and canned goods.
