Michael Kors Opens Fifth Store In Chengdu

American light luxury and high-end clothing designer brand Michael Kors opened a new store in Lotte Department Store Chengdu Global Center and it is Michael Kors' fifth store in Chengdu.

On August 16, 2012, Michael Kors launched its first store in the Sichuan city in Isetan Chengdu. In April 2013, the brand opened two new stores in a single month: a 75-square-meter store locating in Wangfujing Zongfu Road store and a 130-square-meter store locating in Renhe Spring Department Store Guanghua shop. On April 24, 2015, Michael Kors opened its fourth store in Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu and it is also the brand's first flagship store in the Chinese mainland market.

In regards to the development of Chinese market, Michael Kors' representative said during an interview with local media that the company will not only deploy in first-tier mainland cities like Beijing and Shanghai, but also will open stores in Chengdu, Shenyang, and Nanjing. They plan to increase the number of their Chinese stores to 100 over the next few years.

Total investment figures for the new store were not released.
