The home supplies retailer B&Q has closed one more store in Nanjing.

Swedish home supplies retailer Ikea has purchased a 300,000-square-meter area in the business district of Daxing, Beijing, via auction and the company plans to build a comprehensive shopping center there.

Hai Wentian, deputy general manager for Inter Ikea Centre Group China, has revealed to the local media that the group plans to invest over EUR1.4 billion to build new shopping center projects in China in the next five years, with planned project areas of about 510,000 square meters.

During Hola's recent winter products launch, the Taiwanese home decoration retailer announced that it will start developing the Chinese mainland market via virtual channels, including TV, mail-order catalogs, and the Internet; and the company aims to have 60 stores in this marketplace by 2014.

Taiwanese decoration supplies company Hola has opened its eighth store in Beijing at ECMall.

The Beijing-based home supplies and building materials provider Easyhome has announced plans to open a new store in Haikou, capital of Hainan province, in mid-August 2010.
