The Guangdong-based department store retailer Jusco, a subsidiary of the Japanese retail giant Aeon, has accelerated its expansion in the Chinese market with a new project in Popark, Guangzhou.

The Japanese retailer Aeon Group has launched a new individual consumer credit model in Beijing, under which consumers can buy products in Aeon's Jusco department store and pay back the money within a certain period of time.

According to reports in local media, Aeon Group's Beijing flagship store started trial operation on October 17, 2008, marking the formal entry of the Asian retail giant into Beijing's retail market.

Aeon Co.,Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aeon in China, has signed a contract with Beijing Hongtai Jiye Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of COFCO, to open a Jusco supermarket in Chaoyang Grand Joy City, Beijing.

According to the Bureau of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Qingdao, Ministop Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of the Japanese retail giant Aeon, will open 24-hour convenience stores in Qingdao, making Ministop the first foreign 24-hour convenience store brand in Qingdao.

Tianjin Teda Group has signed a contract with Aeon (China) Co. Ltd. to build a comprehensive shopping mall in Teda Promenades, Tianjin.
