According to local officials in Shanghai, a shopper's complaint about finding beef saturated with water in a local market has sparked a city-wide inspection of farm products.

According to Fujian Qirun Restaurant Management, Burger King will formally open a restaurant in Xiamen at the end of June 2008. It is also Burger King's first restaurant in Fujian.

Burger King has opened two franchise restaurants in the new terminals of Beijing Capital International Airport and Shanghai Pudong Airport, respectively.

To control the price increases in China, the National Development and Reform Commission says it will take temporary measures to limit the prices of goods like grain, oil, meat, eggs and milk.
