According to Statistics Bureau of Guangdong Province, the province realized consumer retail sales of nearly CNY1.3 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%, from January to August 2011.

Yihai Kerry, parent company of the Chinese edible oil maker Jin Long Yu, has confirmed that the company plans to formally increase the prices of some edible oil products by about 5%.

In January 2011, consumer price index rose by 4.9% over the same period of the previous year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics of China.

The Beijing-based supermarket, hypermarket, and convenience store retailer Jingkelong, has announced plans to open 40 new retail outlets in Beijing in 2009, in spite of the global economic downturn.

Beijing Jingkelong Company Limited has published its half year report, which shows that as of June 30, 2008, the company had made net profits of CNY76.361 million, a year-on-year increase of 34.39%.

According to just-released February statistics from China's National Bureau of Statistics, the consumer price index was up by 8.7 percent over the same month last year.
