The France-headquartered retail giant Carrefour has announced that its major management restructuring in China is complete.

Mannings, one of the largest health and beauty product chain store brands in Hong Kong, has announced its latest expansion plan and the company says it will increase the number of its outlets in mainland China to over 150 before the end of 2009.

American ice cream company Baskin-Robbins is slowly cornering a small sweet piece of business in China with its first store openings in Shanghai.

Convenience Retail Asia, a member of the Li & Fung Retailing Group, has announced that the company will acquire an additional 25% equity interest of Convenience Retail Southern China for CNY15 million, increasing its holdings of Convenience Retail Southern China from the current 73.5% to 98.5%.

According to Pierre Bertholat, vice president for Carrefour China and president for Carrefour South China, the company plans to open five to ten new stores in South China cities, including Guangzhou and Shenzhen, in 2009.

Chain convenience store group 7-Eleven has jointly announced with China UnionPay the launch of a financial service plan, providing China UnionPay's standard card users in Guangdong with a series of convenient payment services.
