Following reports in Chinese media that its milk powder contains melamine, Mead Johnson, one of the major infant formula milk powder producers in the U.S., has announced that the reports were not true and its milk powder does not contain the harmful substance.

At the 21st anniversary meeting of Hangzhou Wahaha Group, the group's president Zong Qinghou said that they had expressed their intention to acquire the Shijiazhuang-based dairy enterprise Sanlu Group.

According to the latest from Sing Tao News, two of Hong Kong's main retail chains, Mannings and Wellcome, have removed milk powder made by Swiss food giant Nestle from their shelves after a newspaper reported that samples contained the industrial chemical melamine.
