In its second quarter financial report the international electronics retailer Best Buy says that it has gained Chinese local government approval to open four new stores in China.

Carrefour China western regional manager Arnaud Dupont said that the group plans to open five new stores in Sichuan province over the next three years.

Wal-Mart will open a Sam's Club in Panyu, Guangzhou and this will also be the supermarket group's first store in the city.

Xinyu Hengdeli, a mainland China luxury watch retailer, has announced plans to open at least 26 new stores in the second half of 2008.

Versace has announced the formal opening of its three specialty stores at Hisense Plaza, Qingdao; Seibu Department Store Futian Brand, Shenzhen; and Tower Department Store, Suzhou.

On June 28 2008 Suning opened 24 stores concurrently.
