Conrad To Manage Shanghai's Newest Luxury Hotel

Hilton and Shanghai Li Xing Hotel Company have announced the signing of an agreement for Hilton to manage Conrad Shanghai, Shanghai's newest hotel development.

Scheduled to be completed in 2008, the Conrad Shanghai will be located in the heart of the vibrant Xintiandi district. The hotel's ultra-contemporary design has been inspired by traditional Chinese motifs and will feature 362 stylish guest rooms, a chic urban spa, state-of-the-art meeting facilities and two standalone annexes housing innovative food and beverage and recreational facilities.

The upmarket Xintiandi district is part of an urban revitalisation project comprising trendy boutiques, restaurants and shops in the heart of the city centre of Shanghai, Puxi. Xintiandi also features commercial and residential properties.

Matthew Hart, President and Chief Operating Officer for Hilton Hotels Corporation, said: "When people think of luxury accommodation in Shanghai, they will think of Conrad. A combination of unrivalled design and the famous Conrad commitment to individualised service will make Conrad Shanghai the benchmark for luxury hotels in China.

"The relationship with Shanghai Li Xing Hotel Company demonstrates our commitment to providing exceptional hospitality experiences in key cities throughout China."

Leo Koguan, Chairman of Shanghai Li Xing Hotel Company Ltd, added: "we are excited to work with Hilton and are delighted to work with the prestigious Conrad brand to deliver a hotel where guests can truly be themselves. Conrad Shanghai in Xintiandi will be a timeless landmark hotel in Shanghai and we are confident it will be the preferred choice for the discerning traveller."

Conrad Shanghai will be the third Conrad branded hotel in China, after Conrad Hong Kong and Conrad Beijing (scheduled to open 2008). Another close hotel in the region will be the recently announced Conrad Macau.
