Statistics gathered by home appliance retailer Dazhong Electronics show that more customers are buying electronic appliances online because of the cheaper prices.
Statistics show that the recent sales from Dazhong's recently-launched online store reached RMB4.2 million in less than a month.
Jia Yaoyong, general manager of Dazhong Beijing, says that since the cost of running an online store is much lower than that of bricks-and-mortar stores of equal scale, it is possible for the company to offer an online discount of 5% to 20% to its Internet customers in China.
Dazhong targets RMB600 million in annual sales income from its online store by the 2008.
