IKEA To Set Up Its First Store In West China

IKEA, the biggest household commodity retailer in the world, has decided to set up its first western China store in Chengdu, Sichuan Province at the end of this year.

The IKEA Chengdu store will be IKEA's fourth branch in China and will be located inside the third ring road with a total business area of 30,000 square meters.

Lin Jiawen, manager of the IKEA Chengdu store, says the Chengdu store will be constructed according IKEA's standard model and offer over six thousand kinds of household commodities including the latest products of IKEA.

An IKEA representative says the company will continue to target female customers, as they play a decisive role in purchasing household commodities.

Founded by Ingvar Kamprad in Sweden in 1943, IKEA has now grown into the biggest household commodity retailer in the world with 235 stores in 34 countries and regions.
