Super 8 Hotels China has been named as "Official Hotel of the FIG 2006 CHINA Bank of China World Cup Gymnastics" in Shanghai by the organizing committee of the FIG 2006 CHINA Bank of China World Cup Gymnastics.
A formal agreement was signed recently in Beijing by representatives of both organizations.
"It is an honor to be selected as the Official Hotel of the FIG 2006 CHINA Bank of China World Cup Gymnastics," said Mitchell Presnick, CEO of Super 8 Hotels China. "China is a major player in world gymnastics, and the eyes of the world will be focused on this competition. We are proud to sponsor this event which will be held in China for the first time. We feel this honor is a reflection of the organizing committee's confidence in Super 8's 'Clean and friendly' service and quality."
This year's China World Cup Gymnastics will be held in Shanghai on July 14-16. CCTV-5 will broadcast the event live over a two day period.
"China has an excellent gymnastics team, and we hope Chinese athletes at this year's event will bring home a large number of medals," said Super 8 China senior vice-president, Mr. Fang Guofan. "We wish for a strong performance from the Chinese National Gymnastics Team at this World Cup event and at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. We are very pleased to support and contribute to the success of Chinese gymnastics with our six Super 8 hotels in Shanghai and a total of 23 hotels around China."
