Lamex To Open First Flagship Store In Shanghai

Hong Kong Lamex Furnishings Company, one of the largest office furniture manufacturers in China, has announced plans to open its first mainland flagship store in Shanghai.

The first flagship store of Lamex will be opened in Shanghai at the beginning of 2008. Zhang Weiling, director of Lamex China region, says that the new store will provide one-stop shopping service to consumers with services like blueprint design and materials selection.

Lamex will also open another flagship store in Hong Kong and further extend its business into the second and third tier cities in China in the future.

Founded in 1977 in Hong Kong and entering mainland China in 1985, Lamex mainly deals in the manufacture of office furnishings such as folding screens, desks, document storage systems, office chairs and tables. It now has more than 30 franchisees in major cities in mainland China. Lamex was wholly acquired by HNI Corporation, the second-largest office furniture manufacturer in the world at the beginning of this year.
