H&M Eyes Hong Kong, Shanghai Openings

Hennes & Mauritz (H&M), the largest clothing and cosmetics retailer in Sweden, is now busy preparing the opening of its stores in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

The pre-opening work for the two stores of H&M in Shanghai and Hong Kong, respectively, has been basically finished and they are going to be open at the beginning of March. A representative from H&M says that the company has long-term clothing suppliers in China with which they have cooperated for over 25 years.

Rolf Eriksen, CEO of H&M, says that the company will keep its operational pattern in China. After the opening of the flagship store in Shanghai, H&M will not soon expand its business to other cities in China. Instead, it will further expand in Shanghai and develop into other cities when acquiring certain proportion of the market in Shanghai.

Founded in 1947, H&M is the largest clothing retailer from Sweden, with more than 1300 stores all over the world. H&M has been previously focused on the markets in Europe and America.
