Leroy Merlin Unveils New Store In Beijing

Leroy Merlin, the world's fourth largest home furnishings retailer based in France, has recently reached an agreement with Beijing Chemistry Industry Company to open a new store in Beijing in August 2007.

Locating on east Fourth Ring Road in Chaoyang District, the new store will be named Leroy Merlin Da Jiao Ting store. It covers a business area of 7500 sqm and provides 500 parking spaces. As the second store for Leroy Merlin in China, the company says the opening of this store will show that Leroy Merlin has successfully passed the freshman period in the China market and can begin to speed up its expansion.

Founded in 1923, Leroy Merlin is a leading home furnishings retailer. It mainly offers products in the hardware, building materials, gardening tools, cleaning facilities and decorating materials categories. It now has more than 700 chain stores all over the world, covering France, Italy, Spain, Brazil and Poland. It entered China in 1990 and opened its first store in Beijing in 2004.
