Thailand Merchandise Wholesale Market To Be Opened In Kunming

With the signing of the Thailand Merchandise Kunming Distribution Center cooperation agreement between China and Thailand, the first Thailand commodities wholesale market will land Kunming in China's Southwest Yunnan Province.

The Thailand Merchandise Kunming Distribution Center will be located inside Yunfang Southeast Asia Shopping Mall in downtown Kunming and is currently under construction.

It will be completed in three schedules. During the first schedule from 2007 to 2008, about 100 businesses of Thai jewelry, craftwork and apparel will be introduced into the center which will occupy about 4000 to 6000 square meters. During the second phase from 2008 to 2009, about 100 sellers of Thai light industry products including agricultural products, fruit and furniture will be introduced, covering about 10000 to 15000 square meters. And in the last phase which lasts from 2008 to 2009, about 20 Thai food, leisure and healthcare businesses will be introduced and this will occupy 8000-10000 square meters.

The launch of this center is expected to break up the limit in China's import quantity of merchandise from Thailand and reduce the Thai goods price in China's market.
