Aeon To Set Up Shopping Mall In Hebei Province

A delegation from Japan's Aeon has gone to four cities of Shijiazhuang, Handan, Baoding and Tanshan in Hebei Province to choose a location for their new shopping mall in the province.

As the largest chain supermarket group in Japan, Aeon entered Hong Kong in 1987 and until now it has opened 11 stores in Hong Kong, nine in Guangdong and two in Qingdao. At the beginning of this year, Aeon set up a representative office in Being to speed up its expansion in northern China's market.

Aeon has told local media they plan to open about 30 stores, which will mainly be comprehensive department stores and the supermarket JUSCO and shopping mall in suburbs.

Aeon is a retailing group of over 150 member companies in Japan and elsewhere whose business model is based on shopping center and department store operations. Under its "glocal" (global+local) strategy, Aeon aims to be the best local retailer in all of its locations by combining world class management systems with merchandise and services that are fine-tuned to local needs and characteristics.
