Beijing Unicom Launches New Banking Service

Beijing Unicom has started a service called "Financial New Space" which is designed to help solve the long queuing problems at banks and in front of ATMs.

By making use of a Unicom CDMA card and a CDMA wireless communications module embedded in the wireless ATM, Beijing Unicom's CDMA "Financial New Space" realizes a safe, reliable and speedy connection between the mobile communications system and bank system through CDMA1X network and wireless UPDN network. Beijing Unicom's CDMA network enables financial institutions to freely install a wireless ATM without the need of setting up a network, special venue or special lines.

At present, over a dozen financial institutions, including Bank of Communications, China Merchants Bank, China Everbright Bank and China UnionPay, are reortedly using the CDMA network as a data transmission route to conduct wireless ATM, POS, self-help payment terminal and mobile banking services.
