Entrepreneur Confidence Index Maintained Growth In China

According to the results of a nationwide survey from the National Bureau of Statistics of China, the entrepreneur confidence index gained 139.6 points in the fourth quarter of 2007, a decline of 3.4 points from the third quarter of 2007 but an increase of 4.3 points from the same period in 2006.

ECIs from each quarters of 2007, respectively, were 142.0, 143.1, 143.0, and 139.6, and all were higher than the general level of the same period of previous year, that indicated entrepreneurs had good prospects on the future economic development.

The ECIs for mining industry, wholesale and retail trade, respectively, were 164.4 and 146.6.
