Consumer Goods Retail Sales Increased 22% In April

According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China, the total sales of social consumer goods in China reached CNY814 billion in April, an increase of 22% over the same period last year.

Analyzed by region, urban retail sales of consumer goods were CNY555.9 billion, an increase of 22.9% and at the county and below county level retail sales were CNY258.3 billion, an increased of 20.1%.

Analyzed by industry, wholesale and retail sales were CNY689.9 billion, an increase of 21.9%; accommodation and catering industry retail sales were CNY112.2 billion, an increase of 25.2%; and other industries' retail sales were CNY12.1 billion, a decrease of 4.5%.

In addition, the accumulated retail sales of social consumer goods from January to April was CNY3.37 trillion, an increase of 21% compared with the same period last year.
