Vanguard Acquires Xi'an Aijia Supermarket

Vanguard has wholly acquired Xi'an Aijia Commerce Co., Ltd. and has completed the change in ownership and business registration.

Some experts say that Vanguard's acquisition of Aijia will enlarge the scale and improve the degree of standardization of retail chains, which will reduce the procurement cost of the company, bring more benefits to customers and promote the development of the northwestern retail market and the local economy.

As the only local large chain retailer in Xian, Xi'an Aijia Commerce has opened 11 shopping centers in Xian, Ankang and Xianyang. With a total business area of more than 90,000 square meters and an annual sales of more than CNY1.4 billion, the company has about 2,000 employees in these cities.

Vanguard is a large retail company owned by China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd. It has 2,450 stores and 100,000 employees around China. In 2007, Vanguard topped the sales list of chain supermarkets in China with an annual sales of CNY50 billion.
