Little Sheep Opens Its First Department Store Restaurant In Beijing

The Chinese hot pot restaurant chain Little Sheep has opened the company's first department store restaurant at Hualian Department Store Shangdi branch, Beijing, and the restaurant is also Little Sheep's first restaurant to open in Beijing in 2009.

According to Zhang Zhanhai, executive director and chief brand officer for Little Sheep, the company divides its hot pot restaurants into four categories to meet the demands of different classes of customer: mainstream restaurants, community restaurants, boutique restaurants, and department store restaurants.

Zhang stated that, as Little Sheep's first department store restaurant in China, the Beijing Shangdi restaurant is only the first step of the company's new restaurant plan in Beijing. In 2009, Little Sheep plans to open five directly-managed restaurants in Beijing and renovate four existing restaurants. He added that the restaurant chain will then have more than 22 outlets in the capital of China thus improving its scale and level in the Beijing catering market.
