Regal To Manage Master Hotel In Mixed Development In Chengdu

Regal Hotels International and the Sichuan Master Investment Group have entered into a 10-year hotel management agreement in which Regal will manage a five-star luxury hotel in Chengdu.

Scheduled to open in September 2009, Regal Master Hotel is located on the South Renmin Road, between the second and third ring roads and a 10-minute drive from the Shuangliu International Airport and 15 minutes from the city center. The 32-story hotel is part of a huge residential-commercial-hotel development complex owned by the Sichuan Master Group. With an investment of around CNY800 million, Regal Master Hotel is now undergoing pre-opening preparatory work.

The 45,600-square-meter hotel wing will feature 350 guestrooms and suites, a diversified range of restaurants and bar and a comprehensive MICE facilities including a full service business center, nine banquet and meeting rooms, and a 600-square-meter grand ballroom with a capacity of up to 500 persons for a seated dinner reception. For leisure travelers, the hotel will also provide a complete range of recreational facilities including swimming pool, gymnasium and game rooms.

Sichuan Master Group is a leading conglomerate in Chengdu with property development as its core business while also engaging in hotel, food and beverage operations, and trading activities. The recent "Master" project which is invested and developed by the group comprises two residential buildings, one office tower and Regal Master Hotel.

Regal Hotels Group currently manages five hotels in Hong Kong with over 4,000 guest rooms and over 30 restaurants under its portfolio. The group moved into the Shanghai market a decade ago when it was entrusted to manage Regal International East Asia Hotel and Regal Shanghai East Asia Hotel in 1997.
