Taiwanese bookstore chain Eslite Bookstore has announced plans to open its first store on Chinese mainland at Suzhou Industrial Park in 2014, and the company will also build a cultural and commercial building complex in the city.
Wu Ching-yu, founder of Eslite Bookstore, told local media that the company will take Suzhou and the Suzhou Industrial Park as the starting point of Eslite Bookstore on the mainland, because he was moved by the "sincerity of the city" and was attracted by its cultural atmosphere. Wu said Suzhou is the best place for Eslite Bookstore and he expressed full confidence in Suzhou Eslite Bookstore.
Established in 1989, Eslite Bookstore is one of the largest bookstore chains in Taiwan. Its first shop was located in Dunhua South road, Taipei. Eslite Bookstore is the first to set up a 24-hour bookstore in Taiwan at its Dunhua store and it also operates Internet business on Eslite.com.
