China Mobile and Gome Beijing branch have signed a new strategic agreement to complete Wi-Fi coverage in all Gome stores in Beijing over the next six months.
According to China Mobile, the telecom operator has already distributed over 500 Wi-Fi hot spots across Beijing. In the next three months, the company will be able to provide Wi-Fi services in Gome's 12 flagship stores in Beijing, and the new services will be available in all Gome stores in Beijing within six months.
Song Linlin, general manager for Gome Beijing, said that the new strategic cooperation between China Mobile and Gome is the first and major cooperation between the operator and a home appliances and 3C chain. It is also a major step for Gome's fully transfer to a 3C and consumer electronics mart.
