China's Tongrentang Opens New Branch In Middle East

Traditional Chinese medicine provider Tongrentang opened a new branch in the United Arab Emirates.

The newly established subsidiary of Tongrentang in located in Healthcare City, Dubai, and it combines the traditional Chinese clinical services and traditional Chinese medicine retail. Its retail store covers an area of about 300 square meters and hundreds of commonly used Chinese Herbal medicines will be supplied there.

Ding Yongling, deputy general manager of Beijing Tongrentang Group, told local media that Tongrentang started the development of overseas markets from the 1990s and it now has opened 56 stores in 16 countries and regions worldwide, covering Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Europe and America. In the future, Tongrentang will take Dubai as a starting point to expand its market into the Middle East. This is the company's first store in the Middle East.

Apart from providing medical services, Tongrentang will also cooperate with Abu Dhabi and the Confucius Institute in Dubai to promote the traditional Chinese medicine culture, and introduce the related knowledge to local people by holding lectures and free consultations.

Founded in 1669, Beijing Tongrentang is a time-honored brand in the traditional Chinese medicine industry. In 2004, it set up a subsidiary in Hong Kong and started expanding into the overseas markets.
