Decathlon Opens First Flagship Store In Taiwan

French sports supplies retailer Decathlon has opened its first flagship store in Taiwan.

At the same time, the company established its operating headquarters for this region. According to the plan of Decathlon, the company will open 62 outlets in the northern, middle, and southern areas of Taiwan in the future.

Located in Nam Theun, Taichung, Decathlon's first flagship store in Taiwan will provide over 60 kinds of sports products under 18 brands to local consumers. This new store currently covers 53,800 square feet and will be expanded to 86,000 square feet in the second phase.

Decathlon entered the Taiwanese market early in 1990. In 1995, the company opened a trial store in Taichung and it launched its Taiwanese retail headquarters in 2010.

France's Decathlon belongs to the Oxylane Group and it is reportedly the second largest sports supplies retailer in the world. At present, the company operates 535 Decathlon stores in 18 countries and regions.
