Lenovo Extends Retail Relationship In China With Suning

Suning and Lenovo have reached a new strategic electronics retail cooperation deal lasting until 2015.

Under the cooperation, the two parties will enhance product customization, device distribution in stores, promotion, marketing, channel expansion, and supply chain docking.

In April 2010, Suning and Lenovo signed their three-year strategic cooperation agreement from 2010 to 2012 in Nanjing. With the joint efforts of the two parties, the related businesses achieved fast growth. The new three-year plan will be a renewal and upgrade of the previous one.

Chen Xudong, Lenovo's senior vice president and president for China region, said that Suning will implement the integration of online and offline platforms in the future, providing convenient shopping services to consumers. It will also be a good display and sales platform for Lenovo's various products, including PCs, mobile phones, tablets, and TVs. Chen said in the next three years, the two companies will not only cooperate on the marketing level, but also will realize the full partnership of supply chain, so as to improve the cooperating efficiency and scale of both parties.

The new three-year cooperation will cover multiple channels like online, offline, and corporate sales. While enhancing Lenovo's leading position in the PC industry, the two parties will work together to improve sales of Lenovo's mobile phones, Pads, and smart TV products.

In addition, starting from 2013, the two parties will jointly promote the construction of 100 Lenovo 3C flagship stores, which enables consumers to experience more Lenovo products in online and offline Suning stores and enjoys the professional services in these stores.

Financial terms of the deal have not been revealed.
