Starwood Plans Three New China Hotels

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. announced three Element hotels are planned in Greater China to open over the next four years.

The Element brand is positioned to meet growing China travel demand with its sustainable programming and nature-inspired room offerings. The three new hotels will be in Zhangjiakou, Sanya, and Tianjin, respectively.

Total investment figures for the three hotels were not provided by Starwood.

The Element Chongli in Zhangjiakou will open in 2017. This is the co-host city of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. The 150-room hotel is a 30-minute drive from Chongli County Center and 90 minutes from Zhangjiakou Ningyuan Airport.

The Element Sanya Haitang Bay will open in 2018. The 204-room hotel is a 40-minute drive from Sanya's city center and just 50 minutes from Sanya Phoenix International Airport.

In 2019, the Element Tianjin Beichen will open and will have 200 rooms.
