Under the cooperation, the two parties will establish a joint venture to operate Marriott's online Chinese-language official platforms, including Marriott's Chinese official website, Marriott's Chinese mobile app, and Marriott's flagship store on Alibaba's tourism platform Fliggy.com.

At the same time, Marriott Group's member system will interoperate with Alibaba's "88 member system".

The joint venture will explore the world's top tourism destinations. With Marriott's hotels as its focus, it will integrate surrounding tourism resources to design and launch personalized travel package programs.

Zhang Yong, chief executive officer of Alibaba Group, said that Alibaba Group is honored to reach a strategic cooperation with U.S.-based Marriott International. They hope the combination of Alibaba's rich consumer data and Internet technologies with Marriott's unparalleled professional hotel management will create an amazing chemistry to create a benchmark for the world's hotel industry.

Basing on the joint venture, Marriott and Alibaba will integrate their online and offline assets and talents to improve the worldwide tourism experience for Chinese consumers.
